Olivia Pintér is a Johannesburg-based painter working primarily in abstraction, a Fine Arts graduate of the University of the Witwatersrand (2023).
Her process-based practice interrogates the affective agencies of abstract painting — she arrived at abstraction through repeated paintings of landscapes, particularly the gold-mining tailings dams around Johannesburg. Writing also runs through her practice, exploring how text and image marry, extend and limit each other.
