Muofhe extracts from reality, images of rest, desire and communion. As a black woman, her work turns the lens on herself and reflects the authenticity of her life in her vibrant and reflective compositions. Her thematic includes that of black women in postures of repose, expressions of beauty and stills of communal moments.
She aims to reconstruct our perceptions of the ‘truth’ surrounding black women. By reshaping how we view black women in their everyday normality and their moments of glory. Forming a beautiful image of black womanhood as of peace and beauty.
She takes advantage of the varying mediums she works with namely, oil painting and monotype printmaking, to express themes of the body; race and gender. Her work becomes a framed archive of modern realities and future histories.
